Safety Officer Sponsor Secured for 2010!!
Listen up, folks…I was at the Carolina Cup in Oxford NC last week and while sweating blood in that god-awful heat I secured a sponsor for this year’s SO contest. The Target Barnwill donate enough targets and pasters for each member of the winning SO team to receive 50 IDPA targets and 2500 pasters! Now how about them apples!
I do, however, have something of a dilemma. Some of the SO’s seemed pretty convinced that last year’s winning all-female SO team won because they were all females. I have my own opinion about that but I am not happy with any perception of unfairness or impropriety. My dilemma is what to do about that. I hope to have another all girl team of SO’s this year. Not only were they a great team but just having an all female team of SO’s is unique and novel. So….what to do? It would not be fair to eliminate them from the competition or to disqualify them because they won last year. At this point my best plan is to admonish the competitors not to vote for them because they are prettier than all you ugly mugs but to vote for the team that best represents fairness, courtesy and consistency. I am, however, open to any suggestions any of you might have regarding this little issue.
Also, while in Oxford I was able to see the EOTAC folks and they will be dressing our 2010 SO staff! Email me your size(s) so I can get them to EOTAC in plenty of time!!
